John Carroll to host five teams in first ever Carroll Swim Classic on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7

The Gold Streaks Bloggers will be posting updates throughout the Carroll Swim Classic on Saturday, Dec. 6 with blogging beginning during the final rounds that start at 6 p.m. Teams from John Carroll University, Urbana University, Notre Dame College, Ohio Wesleyan University and Marshall University will be competing in this event that will also carry into Sunday. Please check this space continuously over the course of the two-day swim classic for the latest triumphs in the water, and how each team is fairing against the competition.

John Carroll's men won the meet with a final score of 569.

JCU's Davis won the Men's 200 Yard Butterfly with final time of 2:03.50.

Ohio Wesleyan's women won the meet with a final score of 430.

7:51 - JCU's Vereshchagin won the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 48.37.

7:47 - Marshall's Fairbanks won the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 56.65.

7:44 - Notre Dame's McRae won the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke with a final time of 2:02.24.

7:38 - JCU's Mossman won the Women's 200 Yard Backstroke with a final time of 2:16.51.

7:28 - Ohio Wesleyan's Gatz won the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a final score of 58.57.

7:27 - JCU's Fillmore won the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a final score of 1:11.98.

7:22 - JCU's Davis won the Men's 500 Yard Freestyle with a final score of 4:59.90.

7:10 - Ohio Wesleyan's Gilbert won the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 6:16.85. Ohio Wesleyan's Puening followed with a final time of 6:27.50.

7:09 - Marshall's Sweeney won the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle with a final score of 5:21.08.

6:49 - Ohio Wesleyan's Fahey won the Men's 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:04.40.

6:43 - Notre Dame College's Whittington won the Women's 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:15.93.

6:25 - JCU's Pinchot, Vereshchagin, Davis, and Wilberding finished first in the Men's 400 Yard Medley Relay with a final time of 3:45.04.

6:15 - JCU women's team of Mossman, Fillmore, Mathews, and Sved to took first in the 400 Yard Medley Relay with a final time of 4:15.21. Notre Dame College and Marshall followed behind.

5:50 - The teams are warming up and Johnson natatorium is filling up as the first night of the Carroll Classic is about 25 minutes away from starting. We will post results from all the finals and keep you "in the know" as far as the team tally is concerned.
